About Us

River Region Sports was launched on February 1, 2009.

The mission of River Region Sports is to provide in-depth coverage of South-Central Alabama sports with stories and features written in a timely manner. We strive to maintain the proper balance of stories that cover all aspects of athletic competition. We strive for truth in our coverage and do not tolerate selling stories in exchange for favors. We attempt to balance coverage of events from all walks of life but will maintain a strong commitment to high school and recreational sports on a near-daily basis.

We stand for providing appropriate coverage to sporting events along with stories that encourage people through the efforts of others.

Whenever possible, we strive to give back to the community, in particular, high schools and sports programs that we cover.
