River Region Sports, the latest news media outlet in Montgomery and the tri-county area, is excited to announce live streaming video of sports events beginning Saturday.
Through the combined efforts with Tallassee Times TV, River Region Sports will provide live streaming video of games involving local college and high school teams. The future schedule will include live press conferences and other events in the area.

Living up to his storied reputation, Kevin VanDam of Kalamazoo, Mich., closed strong on the Alabama River at the Bassmaster Elite Series Postseason, scoring victory at the Evan Williams Bourbon Trophy Triumph, which earned him enough points in the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year standings to overtake California’s Skeet Reese.

Ken Blankenship wasn’t looking for another job.
But one found him.
The former high school football coach and executive director of the Alabama High School Athletic Directors and Coaches Association added another title to his list, officially, on Wednesday when he was announced as the new Sports Commissioner for the City of Montgomery.

BIRMINGHAM -- IndyCar racing is coming to Alabama.
Gov. Bob Riley is scheduled to announce the latest auto race coming to Alabama at the new Barber Motorsports Park in 2010. The event will feature open-wheel racing. The date has not been announced.
The Birmingham News reported on Monday that the race will be called the Indy Grand Prix of Alabama. Promoters expect the event to attract as many as 100,000 fans to the new track, which is located east of downtown Birmingham near Leeds.
