TALLASSEE - Beauregard jumped out to an early 10-0 lead and held on for a 10-8 victory over Montgomery Gray at the Angels District 5 tournament at Tallassee Thursday.

There are countless girls playing Dixie Youth Baseball.
That’s baseball, not softball.
Many have found success in the boys’ game. Count Caitlin Tant in that number.
Caitlin is 12 years old and plays on the White Plains all-star team, which is in Montgomery this weekend for the Dixie Youth Majors Sub-state tournament. She pulled off a rare feat normally saved for her boy counterparts.

The City of Montgomery Parks and Recreation Department will host the Junior High School basketball championships on Wednesday at the Robert E. Lee High School gym. The B-Team game will feature Brewbaker and Carver at 5:30 p.m. and the Varsity game will be between McKee and Georgia Washington at 7:00 p.m.
The C-team (4:30 p.m.) and Girls (6:00 p.m.) basketball championships will be held on Friday at Capitol Heights Junior High. These teams will be determined by a semi-finals game being played this week.
