Faulkner handles Truett-McConnell

Contributed Faulkner used a 10-0 run midway through the first half to take control and never looked back en route to a 78-53 victory over Truett-McConnell Saturday afternoon at Tine Davis Gymnasium. The Eagles (10-6) led 41-27 at the half and their advantage never dropped below double figures the rest of the way. The largest lead of the game was 28, coming in the closing minute. Faulkner was paced by Randell Moore’s 16 points and seven rebounds. De Hereford added 12 points, all coming in the second half. The Bears (5-15) got 18 points from Jesse Norton and 11 from Quint Moss. Faulkner outrebounded Truett-McConnell 45-27 and took 20 more shots in the game. “I thought in the second half we played with a lot more intensity on the defensive end,” Faulkner head coach Jim Sanderson said. “That’s what it’s going to take for us to be the team we can be.” Faulkner hosts Southern States Athletic Conference rival Southern Poly Thursday night at 7. |
