The Huntingdon men’s basketball team had four players score in double figures as it eclipsed the century mark on the scoreboard for the first time in more than six year with a 104-57 victory over Trinity (Fla.) College on Friday at Roland Arena.

The Hawks (9-8) last hit the century mark on January 21, 2004 in a 103-54 victory over Carver Bible College.

Huntingdon jumped out of the gates quickly, pulling ahead by 22-5 in the opening seven minutes of the contest. During the spurt, senior Reggie Sprouse scored nine points, while junior Ephraim Hudson scored six points on a pair of treys.

The Hawks continued to apply the pressure, pushing their lead to as many as 26 points before taking a 24 point lead to the locker room, 52-28.

At the intermission, Hudson led all scorers with 15 points, while Sprouse added 13 points. Senior Heath Miller also chipped in 10 points and junior Adrian Williams posted six points, seven rebounds and four blocks. The Hawks also enjoyed a large advantage in the paint, outscoring the Tigers (4-18), 32-8.

In the second half, the Tigers pulled to within 18 points, 56-38, with 17:24 left in the contest, but the Hawks answered with 19 consecutive points during the next 5:37 to put the game out of reach.

Huntingdon went on to lead by as many as 51 points, when junior John Sloan brought the crowd to their feet with a 3-pointer with 2:44 left in the game, lifting the Hawks over the century mark.

Sprouse finished the contest with a game-high 24 points, as he hit 11-of-18 shots from the floor. Hudson added 20 points, including four treys, and a team-high nine rebounds. Williams posted 13 points, while Miller finished with 10. Juniors James Daniels and Jack Montgomery contributed 13 combined rebounds off the bench, as the Hawks held a 49-36 advantage on the glass.

For the contest, the Hawks converted 44-of-74 shots, finishing with a season-best 59.5 field goal percentage. The Tigers managed to shoot just 25.7 percent from the floor.

Tim Mitchell paced Trinity with 20 points and 15 rebounds, while Greg Handy added nine points off the bench.

Huntingdon will look to pick up its third straight victory on Monday, when it takes on cross-town rival Faulkner at 7 p.m. In addition to the live action from Tine Davis Gymnasium on Faulkner’s campus, the game will also have a webcast available, courtesy of River Region Sports.
