Senators fall at home to Trevecca

Contributed Tim Dunn pitched a complete game in leading Trevecca Nazarene University to a 10-2 win over Auburn University at Montgomery. Dunn was in complete control in going the distance. He scattered eight hits and limited AUM to two runs on two solo homeruns. His control was excellent walking only one batter while striking out eight. Dunn had plenty of help from his offense as the Trojans collected 17 hits with seven of the nine starters gathering two hits or more. Edwin Borbon led the way for TNU with four hits and two RBI, while also scoring a run. Mark Hewitt had three RBI and two hits and also scored a run. Chad Reynolds had three hits and an RBI and Zack Sutton, Trae Weiss, Trey Morrison all had three hits each. AUM received a solo homerun from Bruce Alter and another from Todd Cherry for AUM’s only runs of the game. Jeffrey Van Fossen (1-1) took the loss. He lasted two and a third and allowedy four runs on five hits. AUM is now 6-5 overall and Trevecca is now 1-4. The two teams will complete the three game series tomorrow with a double-header beginning at noon. |
