Faulkner opened a three game series with Southern States Athletic Conference rival Emmanuel College, blasting the Lions, 12-2, in just seven innings.

Faulkner pulled away from Emmanuel in the fourth inning when Ronald Tarvin gave Faulkner the lead two-run bomb to make it 4-2.

The Eagles posted four runs in the sixth. Michael Clayton jump-started the inning with a leadoff solo shot. Then, with one out, Tarvin went to work with a two-RBI single. Kevin Villarreal closed the scoring effort with an RBI double off the wall.

Faulkner put the nail in with four more runs in the seventh inning. After scoring a pair of runs on an error and a sacrifice fly, Ryan Reece ripped a two-RBI single through the gap for the win.

Mike Zenko (2-1) picked up the win for Faulkner giving up seven hits and one earned run while putting away three at the plate.

Tarvin lit up the scoreboard for the Eagles going 3-for-3 with four RBIs and two runs scored. Villarreal finished the game 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs and a run and Reece was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Justin Jones went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run and Jonathan Gober was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs. Clayton was 1-for-4.

The victory brings the Eagles’ winning streak to seven and they will look to extend it to nine games on Saturday afternoon. Faulkner (12-4) will take on Emmanuel (2-9) in a doubleheader at Harrison Field beginning at noon.
