Birmingham-Southern was able to get to Huntingdon starter John Rice (0-1), roughing the sophomore up for seven runs on seven hits in just 4.0 innings. Freshman Lucas Haynes and senior Blake Gillies combined to toss the final frame.

The Panthers pounded out 19 hits in the game, including three each by Drew Leachman, Brandon Ricco, Bruce Maxwell and Brian Higgenbotham. Birmingham-Southern’s 4-6 hitters combined to go 9-for-16 with five RBIs and six runs scored, while its top two hitters, Leachman and J.D. Hulse, drove in six runs.

John Narramore tossed the first 4.0 innings for BSC, allowing just one earned run before giving way to Michael McCalib, who tossed four scoreless innings of relief to earn the victory.
