BABSOB PARK, Fla.—The Auburn University at Montgomery softball team split a double-header at Webber International losing the first game 2-0 and winning the second game 8-7 in 10 innings.

Allie Converse squeezed home Brandi Richards with the winning run in game two as the two teams battled back and forth.

AUM jumped out to 3-0 leads and 6-3 leads only to see the home team come back and even the score.  Monica Hatcher had a RBI single in the top of the ninth to give AUM a 7-6.  Webber would take advantage of an AUM error with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to again even the score.  That would lead to Converse’s heroics in the 10th.

Stephanie Baxley (5-3) pitched the final four innings in relief of Danielle Ryan to pick up the win.  She only allowed the one unearned run on one hit and had six strikeouts.

Converse had two hits, including a two-run homerun in the third inning and finished with three RBI.  Hatcher also had three hits as did Sara Allen.

Game one was a pitching contest but the Lady Senators came out on the short end of the decision.   Richards went the distance in the loss allowing two runs, one earned, four hits and struck out four.  AUM’s lone hit was from Joanna Reynolds.

AUM moves to 17-8-1 on the season while Webber is now 18-11.  AUM will  continue their road trip on Friday when they play at Southern Wesleyan University at 4 p.m.

WINTER PARK, Fla. – Rollins men’s tennis team ran into juggernaut Auburn University at Montgomery as the NAIA second-ranked Senators downed NCAA Division II 10th-ranked Rollins 8-1 on Wednesday.

The two teams would split the match as Rollins women’s team defeated a player short AUM squad 6-3.

AUM won all three doubles matches to begin the day, and put the match away winning five of the six singles matches.  The singles winners were Sadio Doumbia, Michael Johnson, Saad Benkirane, Bence Toth and Claudio Andrade.
