Contributed LAKELAND, Fla.—The Auburn University at Montgomery softball team started its road trip with a double-header sweep at Warner University, winning the first game 7-0 and coming from behind to win the second game 9-4. Taylor Burt capped a huge day at the plate with three hits, including two triples and knocked in four runs in game two. It was her triple in the top of the sixth inning that brought AUM back from a 4-2 deficit to even the score at four. Following her triple Alli Converse and Joanna Reynolds had back-to-back doubles to add two more runs and give AUM the lead. Early in the game the AUM pitchers had a tough time finding the plate, as Warner led off the first four innings with the first runner getting on base via the walk. That leadoff runner scored in the first, third and fourth innings, as Warner built up a 4-2 entering the sixth. AUM capped its scoring in the seventh after Burt’s second triple of the game drove in two more runs and Danielle Kirkpatrick’s double scored Burt. Kirkpatrick finished the game with two hits and two RBI while Shea Driggers also had two hits, as AUM out hit Warner 10-4 in the game. Stephanie Baxley (4-3) came on in relief of Danielle Ryan and pitched the final five innings allowing three runs on two hits and struck out four. Burt had three hits and two RBI in leading AUM to a 7-0 win the first game. She had a RBI double in the sixth inning and added another RBI in the seventh with her third hit of the game. AUM out hit Warner 11-3 as Monica Hatcher had two hits and an RBI and Whitney Wyatt added two RBI on a hit and sacrifice fly. Every starter for AUM recorded a hit in the win. Brandi Richards (5-2) got the win going five innings and allowing three hits and striking out eight. Stephanie Baxley came in and pitched the final two innings allowing no hits and striking out one. AUM moves to 16-7-1 on the season and Warner falls to 11-6-1. AUM will continue its week-long road trip with a double-header at Webber International tomorrow beginning at 2 p.m. AUM tennis spits with Lynn ORLANDO, Fla.—Auburn University at Montgomery’s tennis teams continued their week-long road trip playing nationally-ranked Lynn University and came away with a split in the match. The Senators were able to defeat fourth-ranked Lynn 7-2, while the Lady Senators fell to Lynn 6-3. The Lady Senators went into the match against the second-ranked team in NCAA Division II one player down, which meant they lost at three doubles and at six singles. AUM was never able to overcome those two losses as Lynn won at one doubles and won three other singles matches for the final score. AUM’s doubles team of Nathalie Sienkob and Morgane Zowczak was able to win at two doubles, and those were also the only players to win their singles matches. Lynn moves to 11-1 on the season while AUM falls to 7-1. The Senators were able to get the jump on Lynn by winning two of the three doubles matches, and the momentum did not stop in singles play as AUM won five of the six singles matches. The singles winners were Alberto Romea, Michael Johnson, Sadio Doumbia, Saad Benkirane and Bence Toth. AUM remains undefeated at 11-0 while Lynn falls to 11-3. Both AUM teams will be back in action tomorrow when they face Rollins College at 2:30 p.m. Women 2. #6 Morgane Zowczak (AUW) def. #19 Eleonora Iannozzi (LUW) 6-4, 4-2, retired 3. #14 Magdalena Ekert (LUW) def. #24 Whitney Byrd (AUW) 7-5, 6-2 4. #11 Nathalie Sienkob (AUW) def. #37 Jessica Yanoff (LUW) 6-0, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7) 5. #39 Tessie Salame (LUW) def.
