Combined Reports ALEXANDER CITY - Tallassee split a doubleheader with Centra-Coosa and Briarwood in the Lake Martin Classic on Tuesday. Trey Cochran-Gill, Michael Tinney and Caleb Parker each had RBIs in a 10-5 loss to Briarwood. In the second game, Darius Williams had a two-run homer and Michael Tinney and Morgan Faulkner each had three runs driven in as Tallassee (10-5) defeated Central, 14-4. Catholic holds off Lanier Montgomery Catholic got a solid pitching performance from Tripp Watley in a 6-4 win Sidney Lanier on Tuesday. Jack Clark earned the save. Derron Simmons and Eric Moten had home runs for Lanier. LAMP wins again in Nike Classic FOLEY - The LAMP baseball team continued it success in the Nike Gulf Shores Classic on Tuesday with an 11-4 win over Southmoore (Okla.) on Tuesday. Chris Dunn was the winning pitcher, scattering five hits over six innings. Miller Norman was 3-for-4 (single, double, triple) with three runs scored and an RBI. Bryan Young was 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Jay Taylor had two hits, two RBIs and 2 runs scored. Aaron Driskell had two hits and three RBIs. The Tigers (13-7) had 15 hits in all. They face Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa on Wednesday. |
