Alabama State University women’s soccer coach Jodie Smith announced ASU’s 2010 schedule featuring 10 games to be played at Hornet Stadium.

After an exhibition against Auburn-Montgomery on Aug. 14, the Lady Hornets officially kick off the 2010 campaign at home Aug. 22 against Wofford College at 2 p.m. Four of ASU’s first five games are slated for Hornet Stadium while the squad’s first six contests will be played within the state borders.

Bama State hits the road for the first time Aug. 27 with a game at South Alabama before hosting three straight games against Southeastern Louisiana (Aug. 29), Faulkner (Sept. 2) and Spring Hill College (Sept. 7).

ASU then travels to Orangeburg, S.C., for a pair of contests versus South Carolina State (Sept. 10) and The Citadel (Sept. 12). USC-Upstate visits Montgomery on Sept. 19 for the Lady Hornets final non-conference contest.

Alabama State opens SWAC play on the road with games at Prairie View A&M (Oct. 1) and Texas Southern (Oct. 3). The Lady Hornets make their conference home debut Oct. 8 against in-state rival Alabama A&M followed by two more league home games against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Oct. 15) and Grambling (Oct. 17).

Following back-to-back road tilts at Jackson State (Oct. 22) and Southern (Oct. 24), ASU closes the regular season at Hornet Stadium with games against Mississippi Valley State (Oct. 29) and Alcorn State (Oct. 31).
