|
Contributed Montgomery (62-59) managed just three hits and Chattanooga (57-64) pitching retired the final 13 Biscuits hitters in order to make an early lead stand, 3-2, Thursday at Riverwalk. Jamie Pedroza doubled home a pair with two outs against Alex Torres in the 2nd to put Chattanooga up 2-0. They added a run in the third on a Trayvon Robinson sacrifice fly to expand the lead to 3-0. Nevin Ashley had two of the three Biscuits hits, including a two-run homer in the fourth to cut it to 3-2. Shawn O’Malley would triple with two outs in the fifth, but the Biscuits would go down in order over the remainder of the game. Chattanooga starter Rubby De La Rosa (2-0) tossed seven innings to grab the win. Alex Torres (9-6) started for the Biscuits, and allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out eight over 5.2 innings in the loss. The Biscuits are now 4.5 games out of the wild card with 17 games to go, and only three games above .500 for the first time since May 26th. Alex Cobb will start for the Biscuits against Chattanooga’s Chris Withrow on Friday at 7:05. |
