NOTES: Biscuits set for Opening Night; ASU star named POY

Combined Reports
(April 4, 2017)

The Montgomery Biscuits will open the 2017 campaign against the Biloxi Shuckers (Brewers) on Thursday at Riverwalk Stadium.

Highlighting the night will be a rare opportunity for fans to get an up-close and personal experience with the United States Air Force Thunderbirds pilots and crew. The Thunderbirds will be in attendance along with Patrouille de France, the French Air Force aerobatic team, for a pre-game ceremony on the field and an autograph session taking place on the concourse.

The two Air Force teams will be in Montgomery for the Maxwell Air Show and Open House taking place at Maxwell Air Force Base from April 8-9 and will be using Riverwalk Stadium for a public appearance out of their aircrafts.

The Air Show is in celebration of the United States Air Force 70th Anniversary, and will mark the first time in over 30 years the French Air Force have been on American soil. Opening Night also has special significance for Montgomery and the Armed Forces as April 6th, 2017 marks the 100th Anniversary of the start of World War I, in which both French and American troops were shipped out of Montgomery’s train depots en route to European deployments.
