Four state baseball coaches and the AHSAA’s Director of Officials set to be inducted into the Alabama Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame Friday night at the Birmingham Marriott Hotel.

After Bobby Valentine was announced as the new skipper of the Boston Red Sox late last year, he could have sent a message to Barry Dean that he would be "too busy" to keep his appointment to speak at the Alabama Baseball Coaches Association’s third annual “First Pitch Dinner.

The Montgomery Biscuits, in conjunction with the City of Montgomery, tonight announced the launch of “BiscuitsVision HD” and construction plans for a state-of-the-art video board and ribbon board to be completed in time for this March’s MAX Capital City Classic.

The Alabama Baseball Coaches Association will host its third annual “First Pitch” dinner and silent auction of baseball memorabilia Thursday, Dec. 8 at the RSA Activity Center.

The silent auction, along with a cash bar, will run from 5:30 – 6:45 p.m. The dinner will begin at 7 p.m.

In the Tank, a new sports talk radio show in central Alabama, debuts Tuesday on WTLS-AM 1300 and FM-106.5.

The show will be hosted by longtime Montgomery media figures Mike Tankersley and Graham Dunn.

Carolina (52-82) scored four two-out runs in the top of the ninth to take their first lead of the night, and the Biscuits (65-70) dropped their home finale by a final of 7-3 Tuesday at Riverwalk.

Greg Sexton homered and scored three times to back Shane Dyer as the Biscuits (65-68) held on to beat the Carolina Mudcats (50-82), 4-3, clinching their first three-game win streak in August on Sunday at Riverwalk.

John Matulia hit his second grand slam of the year but a seven-run hole was too much to overcome as the Biscuits (61-66) fell the the Mississippi Braves (53-74) by a final of 8-5 Monday at Riverwalk… The Southern League announced that Biscuits righty Chris Archer as the  league’s Pitcher of the Week following a stellar outing in Birmingham last week
