Schools in the Alabama High School Athletic Association have been reclassified for the 2012-13 and 2013-14 school years, according to an announcement Wednesday by Steve Savarese, Executive Director.

The 33rd annual men’s city golf championship will be held Friday-Sunday at Lagoon Park Golf Course. Deadline to enter the tournament is Wednesday at 5 p.m… Class 4A All-state basketball player Marqu’es Webb has left Brewbaker Tech and will transfer to another school, according to her mother, LaTangela Sanderson. Despite leading the Brewbaker Tech Lady Rams to the 2011 Class 4A state basketball title, Kelvin Stokes is no longer the school’s girls basketball coach.
Stokes got the news on Thursday when he learned that his contract had not been renewed by Brew Tech principal Sophia Johnson.

Blake Barrow pitched a three hitter to lift Trinity to a 5-0 win over LAMP on Thursday.
The win clinched the Class 3A, Area 4 title for the Wildcats.

Montgomery Academy’s Wells Hooper found some way to beat the howling winds at Cottonwood Golf Course to earn the top medal in the Greater Montgomery Area Golf Tournament on Friday.

Alabama Christian Academy played its final game prior to the beginning of area play, defeating Montgomery Academy, 8-6, on Monday… The Trinity Wildcats scored nine runs in the sixth inning to blow open a tight game in a 15-4 win over Brewbaker Tech at Thompson Park on Monday… The LAMP Golden Tigers won two games on Saturday, defeating Jemison, 10-7, and followed with a 9-4 win over Holy Spirit of Tuscaloosa.

Trinity used three pitchers to hold Brewbaker Tech to three hits in a 7-2 victory on Monday. Senior Josh Watkins went three innings allowing one earned run on two hits with two strikeouts. Winning pitcher Brock Stevens pitched the next two innings surrendering an unearned run, no hits and fanning three and he walked two… The Alabama Christian Academy Eagles scored three times in the eighth inning and held off a LAMP rally in its half to earn an 8-6 win at Paterson Field on Monday.

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. - Brewbaker Tech opened the Fort Walton Beach Tourney with a 15-7 win over Paul Bryant High School on Monday…. FOLEY - The LAMP Golden Tigers defeated Raleigh High School of Mississippi 23-3 in Day 1 of the Nike Gulf Coast Classic in Gulf Shores… Trinity Presbyterian lost two games in the Gulf Shores tournament on Monday.

Trinity scored four runs in the third inning to pull away from Charles Henderson to win 7-3 in a makeup game as part of the Jason Armstrong FCA Memorial Tournament at Riverwalk Stadium on Monday.
