The Alabama Baseball Coaches Association will host its third annual “First Pitch” dinner and silent auction of baseball memorabilia Thursday, Dec. 8 at the RSA Activity Center.

The silent auction, along with a cash bar, will run from 5:30 – 6:45 p.m. The dinner will begin at 7 p.m.

River Region Sports, a new sports talk radio show in central Alabama, debuts Tuesday on WTLS-AM 1300 and FM-106.5. It will also be streamed on networkalabama.com and TallasseeTV.com.

The show will be hosted by longtime Montgomery media figure Graham Dunn along with many special guest hosts

From armadillos and panthers to flying squirrels and kudzu monsters, the suggestions for Auburn University at Montgomery’s new mascot were varied and, in some cases, downright wacky. In the end, the campus community settled on a symbol of the institution that honors local aviation history – the Warhawks.

Blue Springs (Mo.) Fireball broke open a close game with a three-run fourth and pulled away for a 10-2 win over Bama X-treme in Wednesday’s action in the ASA 12-under National tournament at Fain Park.
