The Ponytails team from Montgomery American, which is comprised of 11, 12 and 13 year olds, will travel to Augusta, Ga. for the World Series, which begins Saturday. American drew McEwen, Tenn. for their first-round matchup.

AUM Gold (7-8 year olds) defeated Southeastern Gray, 12-4, to win the Dixie Youth AA (Machine Pitch) District 5 championship at the Aaron Sports Complex in Eclectic.

AUM Gold (9-10 year olds) defeated Bellingrath, 6-5, on Thursday night to win the Dixie Youth AAA Sub-District Tournament held at AUM.  … TUSCALOOSA - The University of Alabama and Georgia State University have mutually agreed to move the date of their 2010 football game to Thursday, Nov. 18… Wetumpka High School’s Youth Football Camp is scheduled for July 15-16, beginning at 6 p.m. each night. The camp is for players ages 5-14.

Montgomery American recently swept through the Ponytails Sub-District tournament held at Ed Thompson Park. The team advanced to the District 5 tourney to be held at Valley where it will play on Friday.

AUM Gold scored 10 runs in the final two innings to beat Prattville, 13-12, in the Dixie Youth Sub-District tournament at AUM on Tuesday  Mitchell Madore and Matthew Carter each had three hits each to lead AUM.

OMAHA, Neb. - The Montgomery Dirtbags opened the single-elimination tournament play in the Omaha Champions Village Tournament in Omaha, Neb. with an 11-4 win over the Mundelein (Ill.) Missiles on Friday.

TALLASSEE - Beauregard jumped out to an early 10-0 lead and held on for a 10-8 victory over Montgomery Gray at the Angels District 5 tournament at Tallassee Thursday.

Montgomery American advanced to the Dixie Youth Softball District 5 Darlings tournament with a convincing 21-7 win over AUM Tuesday at Montgomery Southern.

OMAHA - The Montgomery Dirtbags 10-under baseball team opened pool play in the inaugural Omaha Champions Village tournament on Tuesday with a 5-1 extra-inning win over the  Pensecola Bail Bonds.

Avery Golden singled in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the fourth inning as Montgomery Gray defeated Suburban West, 5-4, in the Dixie Youth Angels Sub-District championship game at Suburban West Softball Complex Tuesday.

Three pitchers combined to send Wetumpka to the Dixie Youth Angels District 5 tournament with a 10-2 win over Montgomery American in the sub-district tournament at Ed Thompson Park on Tuesday.

Pitcher Bailey Williams gave up just one run on seven hits as Montgomery American stayed alive with a 14-1 victory over Montgomery Southern in the Dixie Youth Darlings Sub-District tournament played at Southern on Monday… Mattie Davis threw a three-hit complete game in Montgomery American’s 6-1 victory over AUM in the Dixie Youth Angels Sub-District tournament at Ed Thompson Park on Monday… Garrett Weedon had a stand up triple and 2 RBIs in the bottom of the 5th inning to lead AUM Green past East Montgomery White, 9-7, in the Dixie Pre-Minors Sub-District tournament.

Montgomery American, Southern advance in Darlings Sub-district

Claire Donaldson and Vanessa Millar each homered while three different players had three hits in Montgomery American’s 19-8 victory over AUM late Saturday in Dixie Darlings Sub-District tournament action at Montgomery Southern League.

Southern stayed alive in the first game on Saturday, eliminating Montgomery Gray-Red, 18-2.
