ELMORE - Edgewood Academy had a scare Friday night that lasted all of one minute and 43 seconds.
The Clarke Prep Gators scored the first points of the semi final game with Edgewood at 8:49 in the first quarter. Mitch Greer, who also recovered a fumble later in the game, blocked the Clarke extra point. The quick 6-0 lead by Clarke apparently did nothing but aggravate the Wildcats, which turned the game into a workout and blew Clarke away 41-6.

It may not earn the "Game of the Century" moniker but Friday’s second-round game between Prattville and Daphne is certainly on the large scale.
The two teams battle in the Class 6A bracket and lead the four games involving teams from the River Region this week.

During a week filled with whirlwind stories, the panel is back to business.
The aftermath of the LSU victory over Alabama was quickly overshadowed by the latest revelations involving former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky at Penn State followed by Wednesday’s firing of longtime head football coach Joe Paterno.
