Huntingdon gave up three runs in the first inning and three runs in the sixth inning as Mississippi College took a 7-3 win on Friday at Posey Field. It was the season opener for both teams.

The Huntingdon women’s basketball battled Piedmont from start to finish on Saturday. But in the end the Lady Hawks came up short, 78-72… Five Huntingdon players combined for 73 points, but Piedmont pulled out a 90-82 win Saturday afternoon.

Former Huntingdon baseball player Miles Walding has been trying to take it all in the past few days.
In Palm Springs to play in the California Winter League, Walding’s baseball future got a lot brighter this week. Walding arrived for the first day of the league on Monday. By Wednesday, the Dothan native had signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks’ organization

The Huntingdon men’s basketball team had its opportunities Monday night.
Trailing by one with less than 30 seconds to play, the Hawks were in position to take the last shot and win the game. Instead, Huntingdon missed three shots under the basket in the final seconds and Rust College hung on to win 83-80.

Former Huntingdon assistant football coach Mike Rader was announced as the head coach at Maryville College late last week.

LaGRANGE, Ga. – The Huntingdon men’s basketball team fell behind late in the first half and lost to LaGrange College 90-68 on Wednesday…. Huntingdon women’s basketball coach Buzz Phillips wanted to see how his team would respond Wednesday night.

It was a closer game than head coach Mike Pugh would have liked, but the Huntingdon men’s basketball team pushed its winning streak to three games with a 79-77 win over Pensacola Christian on Monday.

Huntingdon seniors Willie McDowell, Cody Pearcy and Keith Anthony each enjoyed their first experience in an all-star college football game in December.
On Monday, the three will have a chance to play in another all-star game — the Hansen Bowl.

The Huntingdon women were tested Saturday afternoon at Roland Arena.
Hosting Great South Athletic Conference rival Maryville College, the Lady Hawks knew they would have to play one of their best games to knock off the Scots and keep their winning streak alive.
