The River Region is still abuzz over the huge upset pulled by the Opelika Bulldogs last week at Prattville.

The Lions lost, 16-14, on a last-second field goal. Now, the move back into region play along with the rest of the teams in AHSAA as the second half of region play begins.

Sadan Knight enjoyed his biggest night in a Jeff Davis jersey and KeDarius Humphries beat his former team in the Volunteers’ easy 27-10 victory over Sidney Lanier on Thursday at Cramton Bowl.

Lanier broke the longest losing streak in school history last week with its win over Wetumpka. The streak had lasted from the end of the 2009 season, through 2010 and the first two games of this year, 17 games.
