Langham relives good and bad of the past as part of Kevin Turner Memorial Tourney

Antonio Langham is a name familiar to college football fans from the 1990s.

He has been immortalized by the Southeastern Conference’s “Storied” series after his MVP performance in the inaugural SEC Championship Game included an interception of Florida quarterback Shane Matthews for the game-winning touchdown in the final minutes of the nation’s first conference championship game in 1992.

But older college football fans or today’s football documentaries aren’t the teachers of this generation of high school defensive backs.

Former University of Alabama and National Football League star Antonio Langham will be the guest host for the 21st annual Kevin Turner Golf Tournament on June 18 at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Capitol Hill, Prattville YMCA officials announced.

He wears the same number, although his jersey is orange, not crimson.

Clemson safeties coach Mickey Conn admits it can be a little eerie at times watching Tiger safety Nolan Turner.

Big shake up in AHSAA classifications for 2018-2020

Every two years, Alabama High School Athletic Association programs have to contend with new rivalries as they move up or down in the classification system.

The biggest change for the 2018-2020 classification period involves St. James, who drops from their customary position as a Class 4A program to become the largest school in Class 3A.

Tucker Neven and Brock Taunton connected three times in the final 13 minutes, with quarterback Neven hitting his favorite receiver for 73 yards and a touchdown and 32 yards and a touchdown to rally Macon East Academy to a 38-34 victory over Clarke Prep in the first round of the AISA Class AA playoffs on Friday night… Jamal Epkins had two touchdowns and 88 rushing yards on two carries and Triston Hudson had 54 yards and a touchdown on a pair of carries as Autauga Academy rolled to an easy victory in the first round of the AISA Class AA playoffs.

By the fourth quarter, the senior Tyler Price’s hamstring wasn’t bothering him at all as he scored on a 15-yard run with 64 seconds remaining to clinch a 19-8 win over the ACA Eagles and give the Catholic Knights their first area or region title since 1989… Kavosiey Smoke scored on runs of 1 and 15 yards to lead Wetumpka to its first region championship since 2010 with a 27-17 win over Benjamin Russell at the Charles Bailey Sportsplex on Friday night.
