TALLASSEE - Darryl Saucier cringed a bit as racing veteran Donnie Neuenberger did a burn out in his garage at the Eagle Convenience Store headquarters, also known as Freedom Fuels in Kent.
The Eagle truck will run on the NASCAR truck series this season, with Neuenberger driving. The first race will be Friday in Daytona, where Neuenberger hopes to be a qualifier for the Nationwide race as well.

PRATTVILLE - Katherine Hull won the Navistar LPGA Classic Presented by Monaco RV on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, Capitol Hill, Senator Course on Sunday.

PRATTVILLE - Alexis Thompson officially joined the LPGA tour this year.
Thanks to a top-10 finish in the U.S. Open, she already had a fan club, particularly in the River Region.
The 15-year-old burst on the scene in last year’s Navistar LPGA Classic at the Robert Trent Jones Course in Prattville. She led for two rounds before falling off to a tie for 27th.
While four-time defending champion Lorena Ochoa has retired, Thompson will be in the field when the tournament begins the week of Oct. 4.

The Biscuits (55-44) smashed three homers in an eight-run second inning and bested the Carolina Mudcats (46-54) by a final of 11-4 on Monday at Riverwalk. The eight runs were the most in an inning this season, and the three homers equaled a game-high.

ANAHEIM, Cal. – Former Montgomery Biscuits pitcher David Price has been named the American League’s starting pitcher for Tuesday’s Mid-Summer Classic at Angels Stadium in Anaheim.

Pete Van Wieren got a rare treat in his career as a broadcaster.
He became an icon as a voice of one team while becoming a household name at the same time, an accomplishment usually reserved for national broadcasters such as Howard Cosell, Curt Gowdy and Keith Jackson.
How it all came about made for a good book.
Of Mikes and Men: A Lifetime of Braves Baseball provides plenty of narratives and information that would appeal to any baseball fan. The stories include behind-the-scene accounts of the highs and lows of a team that built a following across the country.

Former University of Alabama and Robert E. Lee football standout Antoine Caldwell spent many days as a youth at the local YMCA thinking of ways he might some day help his friends.
Years later, and now a player in the National Football League, Caldwell has that opportunity.
