Park Crossing won its third consecutive region title with a 34-19 victory over Sidney Lanier in what was one of the more bizarre games of the year at Cramton Bowl…Ethan Sellers booted a 30-yard field goal with three seconds remaining to give Opelika a 20-19 win over Wetumpka on Friday.

Uziah McDaniels rushed for 198 yards and two touchdowns to lead Park Crossing to a 39-14 victory over G.W. Carver in a Class 6A, Region 2 clash at Cramton Bowl on Friday… The Wetumpka Indians stayed perfect on the season with a convincing region victory on the road at Pelham on Friday… The Mustangs did not disappoint their Homecoming fans with a 21-13 victory over visiting Russell County.

The backside of the regular season officially opens this weekend and several teams have a chance to increase their chances for the post season.

We’ve reached the official midpoint of the regular season and the jury is still out on a few teams.
There are no region games scheduled among teams in the River Region but plenty of rivalries are renewed including a couple in the Capital City.

Another week in the books and we continue to learn about the teams in the River Region.
Last week produced a few surprises, particularly in Class 4A where Alabama Christian defeated Dale County and Elmore County won its first game of the season.
