As of Wednesday, the landscape of the Alabama High School Athletic Association has changed.
On Wednesday, the AHSAA officially released its new classifications for the 2012-13 and 2013-14 calendar years. The news created a stir for many of the schools in the River Region.
Several schools moved into new classifications while others have new regional and area rivals.

MILLBROOK - Friday looked to be another day of bad luck for Stanhope Elmore.
In what has been a disappointing season filled with setbacks, the final game was about to be victimized by rain and bad weather. And this was Homecoming.
But the sun - metaphorically - came out late Friday evening as Stanhope Elmore defeated Selma, 48-6, in the game was never in doubt.

WETUMPKA - What had been a long week for the Wetumpka Indians turned out to be a long night for the Stanhope Elmore on Friday.
What was the first of two kickoff return blunders helped paved the way for a 28-7 Wetumpka win over its cross county rival at Hohenberg Stadium.

In only 24 hours the world has been turned upside down in Class 6A, Region 4
With the announcement that Wetumpka will be forced to forfeit all five victories for use of an ineligible player, the race for the playoffs took a different turn this week. With a near-perfect week, Stu McCann took sole possession of first place.
But his lead is tenuous as previous leaders have already found out this season.
