MIAMI – The Florida International Panthers (5-3, 2-2) took  the Troy Trojans (2-5, 1-3) into overtime before claiming a 23-20 win and handing the Trojans their third straight Sun Belt conference loss on Tuesday night.

With Troy coming off of two straight conference losses for the second time since joining the Sun Belt, the task of righting the ship will be an arduous one as the Trojans pay a visit to Miami, Fla. to take on FIU in front of a national crowd.

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Troy Trojan football team fell behind Sun Belt conference for Louisiana-Lafayette early Saturday night on Cajun Field and were unable to bounce back as the Ragin Cajuns’ took away a 31-17 victory.

TUSCALOOSA – The Alabama football team went to work for two hours in full pads at the Thomas-Drew Practice Facility on Wednesday afternoon as it continues to prepare for its season opener on September 3, against Kent State… The Alabama State University football team had a two-hour practice Wednesday afternoon under the hot glistening sun at Hornet Stadium… In an offensive line filled with experienced juniors and seniors, one redshirted freshman has stepped up and is in the mix for a starting job at right tackle for the 2011 Troy Trojans

TROY - When the Troy coaching staff was looking for help for the secondary last fall, the recruiting trail led, as it often has, to Booneville, Miss.

That small outpost is the home of Northeast Mississippi Community College, which has become a regular contributor of players to the Trojans’ roster over the years. But the coaches did not know right away that they had a recruiting edge in landing safety Brynden Trawick.

When college recruiters came knocking in the winter of 2007, Troy junior receiver Jaquon Robinson narrowed his options to two schools.

The native of Atlanta decided to do something different from all of his friends and signed with the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. His second choice was Troy University.
