NOTES: Local high school volleyball teams advance to Sub-state; city basketball league set

Alabama Christian defeated UMS-Wright to win the Class 4A Regional championship held in Andalusia on Saturday… The Eagles were one of several teams in the River Region to advance to the Sub-State tourney… The City of Montgomery Parks and Recreation Dept. invites youngsters from ages 7-12 to participate in the second-annual City Youth Basketball league.

On Wednesday, several local high school seniors signed a Letter of Intent, a.k.a. a football scholarship.

The group includes 12 players who signed with Stillman College and four with Alabama State. Four players signed with SEC schools.

River Region Sports invites all schools to send in information on each athlete who signs today during National Signing Day. Just send his name and where he will play college football next season. If you have one, send a photo with the information.
