FRIDAY NIGHT EXTRA: Macon East tops Coosa Valley; Autauga wins big over Sparta

Macon East Academy 60, Coosa Valley Academy 50
HARPERSVILLE -- The defending Class A state champions jumped out to a big lead early, then held off Coosa Valley late to take a 60-50 win in an 8-man football game on Thursday night.
Quarterback Brandon Fitch rushed for 144 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 20 carries to lead the Knights. Fitch completed 7 of 9 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown as well.
Tailback Mathew Simpson rushed for 123 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 19 carries. Waters Smeltzer had three receptions, including one for a 60-yard touchdown.
Defensively, John David Spires had seven tackles, a pair of assists, two sacks and a fumble recovery and return of 15 yards for a touchdown to lead the Knights. Sawyer Dalberg had four tackles, an assist, a sacks and a forced fumble.
Macon East Academy (3-0) returns home to play host to Trinity Christian on Friday. Coosa Valley (0-2) will travel to Springwood next week.
Autauga Academy 64, Sparta Academy 6
PRATTVILLE -- Lathan Rybarczyk rushed for 209 yards and scored five touchdowns on eight carries as the Generals demolished Sparta 64-6 on Friday night.
Rybarczyk also threw a two-point conversion pass, made two of three extra-point attempts and a pair of tackles.
Drez Lee rushed three times for 18 yards, completed 1 of 2 passes for 3 yards and had a 37-yard punt return for a touchdown. Zy Harvey rushed for 41 yards on three carries, forced a fumble, made two tackles and had a fumble recovery. Ladarius Lockley had a carry for 10 yards, pulled in a two-point conversion pass and made five tackles on defense. Carson Trotter had a two-point conversion reception and made six tackles on defense.
Nash Carter added a 38-yard fumble return for a touchdown, while Graeson Hawkins made three tackles and returned a fumble 12 yards for a touchdown. Robert Davis had six tackles, Monte Harvey had four tackles and a fumble recovery, Sam Rowlin and Kaleb Brown each had four tackles and Westin Ware, Noah Turner and Ethan Wainwright had two tackles each.
Autauga Academy (2-0) remains home to play Abbeville Christian next week, while Sparta Academy (0-3) travels to Montgomery to play Valiant Cross.
