Invitees to '26 SEC Media Days announced with six coaching changes encasing the dais

By GRAHAM DUNN

Coaches, players and a cast of thousands from TV, radio and what’s left of print media will embark on Tampa, Fla. next Monday for the annual SEC Football Kickoff Media Days.

The four-day event will have a full complement of quarterbacks. Last year there were 11 in Atlanta, the most ever.

This year there are nine signal callers slated to appear including two of the biggest names in the sport.

Texas junior Arch Manning will make his second appearance at the event, topping something his famous uncles, Peyton Manning and Eli Manning, never did. That is appear twice at the event.

Ole Miss is set to bring Trinidad Chambliss to the party after earning a reprieve from the courts to get one more year of eligibility. Both are considered among the favorites in the Heisman Trophy discussion.

Auburn will also bring its new quarterback in Byrum Brown, who transferred to the Tigers from USF, following his head coach, Alex Golesh.

South Carolina’s LeNorris Sellers is also back for a second time as is Oklahoma’s John Mateer. Georgia’s Gunner Stockton will also be a returnee.

Last year, no running backs were brought to the event. This year, five will be in attendance including Sutton Smith of Arkansas, Jadan Baugh of Florida, Kewan Lacy of Ole Miss, Jamal Roberts of Missouri, DeShean Bishop of Tennessee and Sedrick Alexander of Vanderbilt.

Along with Brown, Auburn will have defensive back Chance Anthony and kicker Alex McPherson attending. The Tigers arrive on Tuesday.

Alabama’s contingency is in attendance on Wednesday and will include defensive back Zabien Brown, wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams and defensive back Bray Hubbard.

There will be five new coaches in attendance including Golesh, Ryan Silverfield of Arkansas, Will Stein of Kentucky, Pete Golding of Ole Miss and Jon Sumrall of Florida. Lane Kiffin is not new but has a new home at LSU, making six schools with new coaches.

This will be the first time the SEC media event has been in Tampa, much less the state of Florida. Dallas, Nashville and Atlanta served as hosts the previous four years.

Full coverage of the four-day event will be provided by River Region Sports and RRS Radio on WTLS Radio (101.1 FM/94.7 FM) with the Wake-Up Call at 6 a.m. and River Region Sports midday show at noon. Listen online at www.1300wtls.com

SEC Network will also have full coverage.
