MIDWEEK PREPS: MA volleyball tops Trinity; PCA sweeps matches; prattville Flag adds another shutout

Montgomery Academy 3, Trinity 0
Montgomery Academy traveled to Trinity on Tuesday and defeated the Wildcats in a match at Captain Jack Court.
For the Eagles, Rehmat Sidhu had 28 assists, four aces and seven digs, Kaci Armistead had 18 digs, two aces and two assists, Morgan Springer had seven kills and two aces, E.G. Hines had nine kills, three aces and 11 digs, Bennett Britt had 15 digs, an ace and eight kills, Addison Kitchens had six kills and Caroline Wood had four kills and two blocks.
Montgomery Academy (33-5) travels to Gulf Shores to compete in the annual ShrimpFest Tournament on Friday and Saturday before returning home to host the 6A Area 4 tournament next week.
Trinity will play host to Wetumpka and Alabama Christian in a tri-match on Thursday before traveling to Gulf Shores for the ShrimpFest Tournament on Friday and Saturday and to Catholic for the 5A Area 6 tournament next week.

PRATTVILLE -- Prattville Christian swept a tri-match with St. James and Brew Tech on Tuesday, defeating the Trojans 25-18 and 25-23 and the Rams 25-16 and 25-11 in the PCA gym.
For the Panthers, Baylee Rogers had 44 assists, a kill, two blocks and 12 digs, Maren Diefenderfer had 21 kills, eight blocks, three digs and an ace, Leah Cate Wilson had 10 kills and three blocks, Olivia Rossi had 15 kills and two digs, Anniston Robison had six kills, 13 digs and an ace, Marion Lewis had a kill, two blocks and a dig, Christiana Franklin had a kill, Morgan Fowler had an assist, 20 digs and four aces, Aiden Williams had seven digs, Kenadie Minor had two digs and an ace and Kandice Crosby had four digs.
PCA (25-9) will travel to Mobile Christian on Thursday, then play in the ShrimpFest Tournament at Gulf Shores on Friday and Saturday before returning home to host the 4A Area 5 tournament next week.
FLAG FOOTBALL
Catholic 21, Selma 6
SELMA -- Hayden Fitts ran for a touchdown and threw for another to lead the Knights to a 21-6 win over Selma on Tuesday.
Fitts completed 10 of 22 passes for 149 yards, including a touchdown pass to Maggie McNeely. Fitts also rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown on six carries.
Haley Ishman added the other touchdown on a 1-yard run.
The two teams were tied 6-6 at the half before Catholic scored a touchdown in the third quarter and added an insurance score in the fourth. Francis Rogers caught a conversion pass after the third quarter touchdown for a 13-6 lead and Addi Little scored on a two-point conversion following the last touchdown.
Avery Sadler led the Catholic receivers with 58 yards on three receptions, while Ellis O’Connor added 39 yards on three catches. McNeely had 37 yards and a touchdown on two receptions.
Little led the Catholic defense with 10 tackles, including a sack. McNeely added four tackles.
Catholic (12-4) improved to 4-0 in region play and will play another region game on Thursday at Marbiury.
Prattville 34, Helena 0
Abigail Kelley passed for 162 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Lions over Helena on Tuesday. It was their fourth-straight shutout and 10th for the season.
Lanieye Page had 97 yards and three touchdowns in receptions, totaling 117 yards. London Williams had 109 total yards with a touchdown reception. Rylee Rich had one reception for a score.
Defensively, Averie Patterson had an interception while Tabitha Jackson one sack and three quarterback pressures. Kerianna Bradley added five flag pulls and two pass deflections.
Prattville (12-4, 3-1 Region) plays again on Thursday against Auburn.
