PREP HOOPS: Trinity edges ACA; Greenville sweeps PCA

BOYS BASKETBALL

Trinity 63, Alabama Christian 60

Wilson Cherry scored 10 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter to rally the Wildcats to a 63-60 win over the Eagles in the ACA gym on Saturday afternoon.

Cherry hit two of his six 3-pointers in the final period after ACA rallied from a six-point halftime deficit with 23 points to take a 49-48 lead into the final period.

Tillman Clements added nine points for Trinity, followed by Kamari Hutson and Mackin Roth with eight points each to lead the Wildcats to their fourth consecutive victory.

Mason Henry and Noah Shack combined for 14 points in the third period after the Eagles fell behind 32-26 at the half.

Henry and Ethan Capps led the Eagles with 14 points each, with Henry pulling down six rebounds as well. Shack added 10 points and Christian Snipes had 10 points and eight rebounds.  

Alabama Christian (4-6) will travel to Reeltown on Thursday.

Trinity (6-5) will play BTW Magnet in the opening round of the 31st Jack Schweers Capital City Conference Tournament on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

 

Greenville 55, Prattville Christian 48

GREENVILLE -- Carter Fiacco led the Panthers with 26 points, five steals and four rebounds in a 55-48 loss to the Tigers on Saturday in the Greenville gym.

Cody Chapman added nine points, eight rebounds and five assists, followed by CJ Robinson with six points and five rebounds and Ethan Girlie with three points and four assists. Justin Chapman grabbed seven rebounds.

PCA (5-8) will play Marina from Huntingdon Beach, Calif., on Thursday in the first round of the Jack Schweers Capital City Conference Tournament at Trinity.

In the junior varsity game, Ethan Kinne had six points and six rebounds in a 61-25 loss to Greenville. Nolan Currier added five points and six rebounds, Winn Jones scored five points and Spencer Wilson had three points and four rebounds for PCA (0-10).

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Greenville 46, Prattville Christian 33

GREENVILLE -- Laney Little had nine points and 11 rebounds to lead the Panthers in a 46-33 loss in the Greenville gym on Saturday. Baylee Rogers added seven points, five rebounds and four assists, followed by Leah Cate Wilson with six points and seven rebounds, Reagan Houston with five points and five rebounds and Avery Mann with four points and four rebounds.

PCA (4-9) will play Midfield on Thursday in the first round of the Jack Schweers Capital City Conference Tournament at Trinity.
