By the time you read this, another high school football coach will have been interviewed a third time regarding the upcoming season.

It’s that time of year when the players and coaches get to be a part of the “talking season,” where everybody has a chance to do special things and make special plays and win big games.

That’s what the annual RRS Prep Media Day is all about.

Coaches from the high schools in Montgomery, Autauga and Elmore Counties will meet at Garrett Coliseum on Tuesday to give a plug for their program in the sixth annual event. At least 27 football teams are to be represented while another 15 flag football teams will also be on hand.

The number of flag teams has increased so much that by the end of the day on Tuesday, there will be at least four coaches who haven’t developed a team but will have talked at length about them.

River Region Sports is the annual host and no less than eight other media affiliates in the area are scheduled to attend.

The region features 10 new coaches with a couple, Shane Moye (PCA) and Bobby Carr (Prattville), trading schools.

Several schools will have flag football teams for the first time.

River Region Sports will provide live coverage of the event with interviews on both Facebook and the daily show on WTLS at noon.

The day eventually leads to the publishing of the annual RRS Football Guide which will be available online and in select business in the region.
