After a record-setting 2024-25 season, the Southeastern Conference has set the opponents for the new year with several matchups that should provide a glimpse of the strength of the league.
Defending SEC champion Auburn will face the national champ Florida Gators on the road. So will Elite Eight finalist Alabama as part of the new schedule, released by the conference office on Wednesday.
Auburn has home-and-home games against Alabama, Ole Miss and Arkansas, three teams that reached the Sweet 16 a season ago. Auburn also has Kentucky, Texas A&M and Texas at home.
Alabama has Auburn, Mississippi State and Tennessee for home-and-home dates. The Crimson Tide’s home games include Kentucky, Arkansas and Texas A&M.
League play tips off on Saturday, Jan. 3, and runs through Saturday, March 7. Each SEC team plays the other 15 teams at least once during league play. Three teams will be played a second time during the schedule – two which are permanent opponents and one that will change each year.
The SEC Tournament returns to Nashville, Tenn., as Bridgestone Arena will host the event from March 11-15, 2026.
The SEC is coming off one of the most dominant seasons in history. SEC teams won a record 88.9 percent (185-23) of their regular season non-conference games in 2025. Their KenPom.com rating of +22.09 was the highest in history. In 2025, the SEC also set NCAA records with 14 NCAA Tournament selections and seven Sweet 16 teams while tying the NCAA record with four teams in the Elite Eight. Auburn and Florida advanced to the Final Four with the Gators winning the league’s first national championship since 2012.
Times, dates and television information will be announced at a later date.
