FCA TOURNEY: Trinity tops St. James; Pike Road dominates Providence Christian

Trinity 8, St. James 5

Land Sharpless tripled in a run and scored later on PJ Shelton’s single to lift Trinity to the win over the Trojans in the opening game of the 2026 FCA Jason Armstrong Memorial Tournament at Riverwalk Stadium on Monday.

Shelton picked up the win, pitching five innings. He struck out six and gave up seven hits.

Drew Sanders had two hits for the Wildcats while Mason Hawkins and added a hit and a run scored.John Allen Schroll had a single and an RBI.

St. James got four hits and an RBI from starting pitcher Jimmy Dickens. Wilson Aman had two doubles and two runs scored while Dawson Knowles added two doubles, a run and an RBI. Luke Catchings drove in two runs for the Trojans.

Trinity (3-0) is back in action on Tuesday facing Providence Christian at Paterson Field. St. James (2-4) returns to action Wednesday against Lee-Scott Academy at Riverwalk Stadium.

Pike Road 11, Providence Christian 1 (6 inn)

The Patriots fell behind early but stormed back with a seven-run third inning to beat Providence Christian in the 2026 FCA Jason Armstrong Memorial Tournament at Riverwalk Stadium on Monday.

The Patriots sent 12 batters to the plate in the third inning highlighted by Coleman Stabler’s two-run single. Noah Foley had a double in the inning scoring another run.

Brooks Canady had the lone run for the Eagles, hitting a solo home run on the first pitch of the game. He was also the losing pitcher.

Julius Williams was the winning pitcher for Pike Road.

The Patriots play again Wednesday at Paterson Field against Tallassee. Providence Christian plays twice on Tuesday against Trinity and Andalusia, both a Paterson Field.
