PREP UPDATE: Pike Road softball tops Russell County; Catholic soccer sweeps PCA

SOFTBALL

Pike Road 10, Russell County 0

PIKE ROAD -- Abby Olesen got her second win of the year by beating Russell County 10-0 in a run-rule game. Olesen struck out seven, walked three and only surrendered one hit.

Offensively, the Patriots (2-0) had nine hits with Kennesy Cuthbert getting three hits and four RBIs to help the Patriots win their Class 6A Area 3 opener.

Addison Belyeu had one hit with 2 RBIs. Haleigh Morris, Paisley Forshey, Kasyn Wilson, Olesen and Lily Kate Vinson each had a hit. McKenzie Tate had an RBI with a fielder’s choice.

Finley Black had Russell County’s only hit.

The Patriots will travel to Valley for a weekend tournament beginning Friday before returning home to play Smiths Station on Tuesday.  

GIRLS SOCCER

Catholic 4, Prattville Christian 1

Jessie Patton led the Lady Panthers with the lone goal. Mady Roy had the assist.

PCA (0-2-1) travels to play Elmore County on Tuesday.

BOYS SOCCER

Catholic 3, Prattville Christian 1

Ethan Green scored the only goal for PCA (0-3).

The Panthers travel to play Elmore County on Tuesday.
